Privacy policy

This policy explains what information QuizCrowd ("we") collects when you use QuizCrowd, why we collect it and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• When you take a quiz: the answers you pick, the result you get, the page that sent you to us and a campaign tag if the link had one. We do not ask for your name, and we do not store your IP address with your quiz answers.
• When you create an account: your email address, username and a securely hashed password, or your Google account ID and email if you sign in with Google.
• When you create a quiz: the text and images you upload. Published quizzes are public.
• When you contact us: your name, email address and message.
• Technical data: server logs (including IP addresses) kept for a short time for security and to fix errors.

Cookies

Browsing and playing quizzes sets no cookies of our own. Logging in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in. Advertising partners may set cookies, but only after you give consent through the consent banner, which you can change at any time.

How we use it

• To run quizzes, show results and let you share them.
• To keep your account and your quizzes working.
• To moderate content and keep the site safe.
• To count plays and see which quizzes are popular.
• To show ads, which keep QuizCrowd free.
• To answer your messages.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We use a small number of service providers:

• Hosting and image storage providers that store the site's data and files.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Advertising partners, only with your consent.
• An error monitoring service that receives technical details when something breaks.
• A content moderation service that checks the text of submitted quizzes.

How long we keep it

Individual quiz plays are deleted after 90 days; we keep only daily totals. Account data is kept until you delete your account. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Send a request through the contact form and choose "Privacy or data request". If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

QuizCrowd is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Creating an account requires you to be at least 13, or older where your local law requires it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will also notify registered users.
